1. Who we are
WageWright ("we," "us," "our") runs wagewright.com, a set of free paycheck and payroll calculators. This policy explains what data we collect when you visit, why, and what choices you have.
2. What we collect
We keep data collection to a minimum. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell your personal information. The data involved falls into three buckets:
- Information you type into a calculator — your pay, hours, and similar figures. See section 5: this stays in your browser.
- Automatic technical data — your browser type, device, approximate region, and the pages you view. This comes in through standard server logs and analytics.
- Cookies set by us and by advertising partners — see section 3.
3. Cookies & advertising
We use cookies to keep the site working, remember your cookie choice, and understand which calculators people use. Once advertising is active on the site, third-party vendors, including Google, will also use cookies here.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized ads at aboutads.info.
If you are in the EU, UK, or another region with consent rules, we ask for your agreement to non-essential cookies through the banner shown on your first visit. You can clear the cookie in your browser settings to be asked again.
4. Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular, in aggregate. We use this to decide which calculators to build next, not to identify you.
5. Your calculator entries stay in your browser
Every calculator on WageWright runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The numbers you enter — your pay, your hours, your bonus — are computed on your own device and are never transmitted to or stored by us. When you use the "Share link" button, your inputs are placed in the page's web address (URL) so the link reproduces your result; only share that link with people you trust.
6. Legal bases & your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold so little — no accounts, no stored calculator inputs — most requests are simple. To make one, email us (section 10). We rely on your consent for advertising and analytics cookies, and on our legitimate interest in running a secure, functional website for basic technical logs.
7. Data retention
Server and analytics logs are kept only as long as needed to run and protect the site, then deleted or anonymized. We don't keep your calculator entries at all.
8. Children
WageWright is meant for a general, adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site grows or the law changes. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
